Ohannes ‘Hovig’ Bajanian is the senior pastor of Evangelical Baptist Church of Edmonton since 2017. He has served in different areas of Canadian church ministries since 1990. Hovig has previously ministered as the senior pastor of two other churches: Fellowship Baptist Church in Saskatoon, SK (2012-13) and Edson Baptist Church, AB (2014-17).
Before heeding the Lord’s call for full-time pastoral ministry, Hovig worked for 17 years mostly as a mechanical designer; primarily in the aerospace industry. He is a graduate of Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary (VA, USA; 2008) with a Master of Arts in Religion and of The Master’s Seminary (CA, USA; 2018) with a Doctor of Ministry (in Expository Preaching). He has also done graduate studies through Prairie Graduate School (Three Hills, AB) and post-graduate work through the South African Theological Seminary.
Hovig loves to exposit the Word of God. His passion is to shepherd the church and mentor like-minded servants who would do the same (2 Tim. 2:1-2). Also, he has the desire to teach and help prepare future pastors for the work of the ministry. His hobbies include soccer, music, and reading. Hovig is a family man who is blessed with the love of his dear wife and two children.
